So, please, explain something to me. I
get that most people aren't really interested in understanding
technology, or even really equipped to do so. It requires a basic
understanding of math and science that most people simply don't get
excited about.
I understand the basic physics of cars.
Inject the fuel in a vaporized state, ignite with a spark, and the
expanding hot gasses move the piston, which then ultimately move the
wheels. I can't show you what a power-train looks like, or the
specifics of the fuel delivery system, but I understand the basics.
Very few people understand
semiconductors and how they work at a quantum level. A larger
percentage of humanity understands them at the component level,
either hardware or software. But for most people, they know the
interface and have some vague idea about how the information is
structured, accessed and transmitted.
So I get that most people don't really,
deeply understand the technology they use, I really do. There's too
much of it to know and too many things you have to know just to be
able to begin really understanding it.
But will someone please explain to me
how you can have a phone AND NOT KNOW YOUR OWN GODDAMN PHONE
NUMBER‽‽‽
